The neighborhood puppy who is now a dog is so well behaved, he won't even eat food you offered him without seeing approval first.

Puppies are very cool, they always follow me arround and even bark and random people who come close to my apartment. Kittens are nice too though, I don't dislike them. They just feel like a neighbour more than a fren.

Dogs are shit when they come in packs, but cats stay in pack mode by default. That's the problem.
I guess home cats are different, but I am not going to experience having one to confirm it.

I just whistle and they all start wagging their tails but It can be over whelming to be surrounded by 6 large dogs who can rip and tear you down in less than a minute if they all wanted. Still I look at them and see very sweet animals, partially since they evolved to be like this, partially since we selected then to be like this.

Yeah I get you. I had a friend whose dog was partially mixed. Said dog ended up running away and joining a pack after a few years.

Yeah, strays have a very strong pack drive and are very hard to domesticate. They actually dona better job of you keep a bunch of them and you keep them in open or in backyard rather than inside your home.

That's what they did. They used to live in a big compund with 3 other families, and they had 3 dogs minimum around at all times sometimess even more. Still the dog ran away.
