I still remember the time I played sh2 (original), in the summer (march, april ig) of 2023...
When I completed the game it just never left me, the experience stuck with me. I'll never forget the ending and I keep revisiting the soundtrack from time to time. It is a piece of art which transcends the medium of videogames, knowing that it came out in 2001 was insane.
It just left an aftertaste with me and I wasn't able get it off my head for a few weeks atleast.
The only games which came close were bioshock+bioshock infinite and it's burial at sea dlc but the plot in bioshock series felt full of holes.
I don't know anything about the sh2 remake as I've not played it or watched anything related to it.
So bhachanners, do you know any games which are as emotionally moving as sh2 while not being a drag and grindfest? I want something to cherish after playing, like a good movie or some good song. I've already played sh1 and sh3 though

FlightGear is an open-source flight simulator. It supports a variety of popular platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux, etc.) and is developed by skilled volunteers from around the world. Source code for the entire project is available and licensed under the GNU General Public License.
>How do I install it ?
You can download the binaries/installer from here:

Or you can use the Git Repo to build it yourself. If you are using Arch, you can even compile it from source from the AUR, but it will take a lot of time.

You can read the manual on how to set it up, and the manual even contains the basics of flying.

>How do I install Aircraft ?
You can go to the Aircraft --> Browse and install from there. You will find majority of the popular and well-developed Aircraft there, but if you want, you can manually install Aircraft from Github as well.
>How do I install scenery ?
So this is the important part, and also the difficult one. If you have Wi-Fi, or an abundance of internet, you can just go to Settings --> Automatically download Scenery from Terramaster --> On(it is on by default). No effort needed.
If you are short on internet, you need to manually download the New Americas from the following link:

It is the most recent and most accurate modelling of both the Americas. This is the one I recommend. but you can also figure out hwo to download other Sceneries from:

Another very important thing I would recommend to install is something called Project3000. It's not a scenery, it's a collection of objects that will make your Airports and Sceneries way more detailed and good looking.

Please please please install it, it will be worth it.
So now that you've downloaded your scenery, how do you install it ? it's actually quite simple.
>For Windows
Simply unpack the downloaded scenery into a directory of choice, using software like Winzip or 7-zip. Once done, append this directory to $FG_SCENERY (in the launcher, this can be done under Add-ons > Additional scenery folders).
>For GNU/Linux users
If you are using the David Megginson link, just extract the downloaded in the following directory: /home/username/.fgfs/fgdata_2024_1/Scenery
If you are using some other way, check: https://wiki.flightgear.org/Howto:Install_scenery#Technical_details

>How do I actually fly ?
There are tutorials for almost every aircraft on YouTube, you just have to search it up. Even if you can't find it, you can just look through the controls when the simulator is loaded. If you're still having trouble, do the following:
>autostart
>shift+B to release brake
>TAB to make your mouse into a joystick
>PageUp for thottle increase, PageDown for decrease
>0 and ENTER on numpad for adjusting rudders
>throttle all the way up until you reach take off speed for that particular aircraft(60 kts for Cessna, 160 for F-16)
>gently pull back once you reach throttle speed
>press g to retract landing gear
Voila! Now you are in the air! Have a safe flight!

I was reading about the gaming companies press releases from western companies and it's so HR coded and that made me puke.
For the post part of the gaming history, americans have been the dominant cultural exporters but over the time period of time their gaming companies have became less about games more like corporates who want to squeeze money as much as they can, focus has moved away from the games itself. It's cultural politics, or recycle, or some random jargon.
Europe scene is slightly better but it's the chinese who are shining now.
Check the english gaming content channels it's lame, boring, recycled stuff compared to actual fun things going on the chinese gaming scene.
It's slightly relevant to Indians, considering most of the indians are limited to mobile gaming or barely have time or resources to develop huge gaming culture but it's slowly picking up the pace. Maybe in next 5 years or so we will see some changes.
I am not still that optimistic because even the current people trying for gaming development in India are typical tech bros, they barely have idea of games outside AAA slops, they have no innate talent and worse is many of them are obsessed with AI slops which is equally pukeworthy.
Our indie scene deserves better though once in a while i see some good devs posting, it seems horrors is one genre where we may see more breakthrough soon.

I finally finished FF3 this morning. It was imo the weakest of the NES trilogy. The spell charge system and the story was overall a step back from ff2; while the job system was fun, it's still quite unbalanced. The final stretch with the crystal tower was as much of a drag as I've heard it was. I played the pixel remaster version, and I can only imagine how brutal it must have been on the NES with no saves or heals in between all that. Still, overall, it's an ok game, especially for the time it came out.

Older pixel games used to have darker tones, i was scrolling through arts of few artists and saw pic related by @Deckiller. And it reminded me of the pixel games i played in the past.
Most of them had darker palette. Earth tones.
Recent games being more 'aesthetics - soft - neutral' palette is eastern affect, like japanese and koreans.

We have reached the peak of game graphics by xbox 360 / PS3. So we only require 512 MB ram for 3D.
Every GB of ram/vram/cores added after that has only been for abstraction. To make , making game cheaper so more people make/buy games and in turn buy more graphic cards.
