Finally got the chance to use my pendrive to "try" and then install Kubuntu, it feels like i've actually ascended. No telemetry, smooth as fuck UI, 10x faster than shitdows 11.
And don't fall for the whole "muh 10 lines of code to open Firefox", its a lie perpetrated by microCock to get the goys to stay inside their system lmao

I've also decided to switch over to loonix. But there is a problem. I have two drives. One an SSD, the other is a HDD. Both are NTFS. And both hold lots of data that I wouldn't want to lose [photos, videos, game save files, software archives]. Would it be better to buy a new disk and use that instead of juggling all the data on the disks and possibly corrupting them in a power loss due to poor linux support for ntfs.

yeah also the disk is labelled as 'dynamic' in windows. Will that be a problem while installing on that.

my void linux run under 50 GB of storage and works fine with distro like Debian, Arch, Void, Gentoo 20 GB is enough but i would suggest make 40GB partition and install Debian on it watch some video before.
Debian is easy to install and since it uses apt as package manager and systemd as init system if you run into any problem finding solution will be easy

>Both are NTFS
this will automatically change to ext4 while installing
bonus since linux kernel support ntfs so you even look into your windows partitions from linux
doing it from windows is impossible unless you have enough money to pay for third party software

Ok so sirjis, this "dynamic disk" shitfuckery did become a hurdle. Still stuck at windows. The thing is, on Windows, every disk other than the primary gets converted to a 'dynamic' disk. There are advantages for that. For example, when you have multiple dynamic disks in a single system, you could make partitions that spans across multiple physical disks. Downside being, that you can't install OS or anything like that on a dynamic disk. The thing is, converting a Basic disk into a adynamic one is instant and doesn't cause any data loss. But!! Reverting one back to a basic disk needs you to delete the partitions and format the entire drive. Hence, I am still stuck in windows 10. Will switch when I ultimately get a laptop for kalej.

>ntfs drives are automaticlaly mounted.
Yes yaar this happened and was good. I used fedora XFCE from a alive USB and it was faster and less resource intensive than windows 10. Everything felt snappy as fuck. Can't understand how has windows been surviving since the release of 11.
