Do poopjeets really don't understand basics of microbiology and how microbes work? What's up with this obession of drinking/sipping river water?
Takeaway - You should never sip water directly from any river whatsoever. Filter it first.

I sip my village's river water whenever I go there and never got sick of it. I have actually always felt refreshed after drinking it. A lot more refreshed than drinking filtered water back in city

That's placebo and have you ever heard of a term called sample space? Don't have a tubewell in village? If you insist drink from that. Don't you know the rivers that passes through villages are filled with urine, feces, carcasses etc?

Yeah you can't really see microbes that's the whole point. Drinking water from a place where all those nasty things go is worse than drinking toilet water (just sample space differs)
