That's metro lite / tram.
We already have metro which are pretty good. RRTS mogs.
Vande Bharat among trains is pretty good - though can be improved in few aspects.

I travel mostly in 2ac in trains and have in Vande Bharat. Though train was dilapidated it was not really dirty - other than toilet gross. Vande bharat was great though.

On a global scale, Indians will be called pajeets and subhumans with the same intensity of hatred as of now at the very least till our generation dies out
This racism is not only on 4chud, go to any youtube comments, instagram comments, tiktok comments
Any Indian commenting anything and if a non-Indian happens to come across that comment you'll see "street shitter", "pajeet", "do not redeem" in that comment's replies
Sad part is that most Indians are unaware of this and only keep crying about Sundar Pichai, Satya Nadella etc etc even when they're all AMERIMUTTS

If BJP sustains, how many decades do you think it'll take us to:
1) get rid of overcrowding and provide AC services to every person in trains (general welfare, non specialization route of development)
OR
2) reach japan level speed, luxury, cleanliness in expensive trains (specialized luxury focused route of development)
Also, do you think Hyperloop will be as big of a success as it is seeming to have the potential for?

Long back i realized that it's futile to care opinion of others based on irrational hate or hate in general. They are not gonna change their opinions even if you improve or reality doesn't match.
Focus on things that can be improved, criticism at your end is good, appreciate what is good - don't fall for doomerposting memes etc.
Rest is life yaar. Gotta keep living through.

hyerloop is meme - too expensive but i saw jeets chimping out over funding for IIT chennai grads which i thought was retarded. Even if technology doesn't pans out - something out of it will help us.
I do wonder about feasibility of delivery services using hyperloop medium. Not much enthusiastic about people transport - however some tech can be used in maglev trains if we ever pursue.
Coming to railways i have written about possible goals in >>>/infra/ railway and hsr threads.
Here's what has already happened
>75 vande bharat trainsets produced in 3 years or so. Compared to equivalent shatabdis with way lesser services were 25 over last 7 decades.
>400 vande bharat trainsets are under pipeline with 200 vande bharat sleeper with concrete orders and ongoing manufacturing and they look absolutely gorgeous - with great many features. Check hsr thread in >>>/infra/ for details.
>Next gen vande bharat by BEML is in work for 280kmph peak speed, 250kmph operational speed.
There will be vande bharats with tilting tech, aluminum body - 200 of these were supposed to be part of 400 orders but was cancelled by babus.
There's already Vande Bharat Metro aka Namo bharat rapid rail which is full ac, unreserved connecting cities within like 100km to 250km distance max. Though the current operational one in gujarat - first prototype is covering around 350km+. It's completely ac, cheap and people love it - you can check youtube videos of it.
Most local trains be it in Mumbai or in Chennai have either started the replacement or introduction of ac locals. Ac electric buses are being purchased too. Some of these are state subject so with or without bjp there's positive movement in this direction among all the major states.
Metro network is already expanding. RRTS will be introduced in Chennai for certain. Namo bharat metro can be a cheaper and decent rrts equivalent if they want tbh - just have parallel lines instead of using existing ones.
Most of the vande bharat trainsets are equipped with Kavach systems - this can be helpful in collission prevention etc. They are more silent, in general more comfy. Kavach system is now being implemented on major routes - though progress has been slow but happening.
Railway laid out 5000km of tracks either in 3 years or 1 year - need to check but upgradation is going on major routes for 130kmph to 160kmph. Eventually it will go for 180kmph and hopefuel about 240kmph along major routes maybe after 2 decades probably.
HSR is already happening - please check hsr thread in infra.
I am just talking about trains here. There's also Amrut Bharat trainsets - they are standardizing things now.
>vande bharat cc (chair) and sleeper full ac which are 400+ in premium
>vande metro - full ac - un reserved covering 100km to 250km for normal people - most based policy - 50 are planned - already in budget for this year
>amrit bharat - mostly standardization - general and sleeper non - ac | maybe in future this will be deprecated and we will have only ac versions of vande bharat. But this is also alright.
Railway is already upgradation stations btw, like this is their one of the major ops currently you can find videos if you look up - there are criticism - they should pursue PPP model in station operations.
Criticism can be there for tenders, like many L1 tender railway service providers are svbhumans - throwing kuda outside instead of disposing them diligently, bad food etc. are events which eventually will get sorted. You can already order from zomato etc. on trains so that's good.
So
>trains covered
>track upgradation covered
>station covered
>cheaper travel - amrut bharat, vande metro
>safety - kavach
Of course we need more tracks, more amrut bharat etc. etc. to cover to growing demands. Even then crowding will be an issue on certain routes.
Regarding city infra - which directy affects us - unless we involve municpal bodies and revolutionize them with state bodies it's gonna be shithole which means
>bad city infra - sidewalks, public services, waste management, dirt, food quality etc. etc.
Smart city was a good initiative but like everything bjp just edged and out, crab mentality jeets usually are just whining and happy celebrating the demise of it.
So there's that.
Japan level - naah. The very mindset is way too diferent among the too societies sadly. We can try on individual level.

>Loads of stuff which I never knew about, no one talks about
Damn, this is too good
Never expected this after seeing that mohak mangal video on indians railways spending more than earning, running with losses upon losses
Hopefully train tracks will be upgraded or new better ones will be made after dismantling the older ones in the next few decades, it's really gonna help with the speed
Hopefully the mumbai locals will be ac (how the fuck will they reduce crowding, even if they make it all ac- they wont?)
Smart cities are happening to an extent, they're making more and more metros, though there's no city planning or industrial development or any real "swachhta abhiyaan" going on like Indore anywhere in the country
City infra will never improve in this country, corruption is too deep rooted- Looks like it will remain looking like a shithole at least by the time we all die out. I saw that Mohak Mangal vid about cleanliness of cities, municipal corporations are not earning enough to take action, every city is not Mumbai or Indore, how the fuck will they ever change that- public awareness? Is bringing public awareness easier than ever with social media? Or is it still very tough?
All this stuff happening is too good, but the major complaint of people is that it's all too expensive compared to the older shitty trains
Is that true? And will there be any solutions to it?

I don't know what that was about but there are always context. There are issues in current railway like manpower issue, train delays etc. I was mostly focused on ongoing things which are happening which will most likely mitigate most of these issues.
Public services like railway aren't meant to generate profit. They indirectly help the economy anyway.
>>71386
>Hopefully the mumbai locals will be ac (how the fuck will they reduce crowding, even if they make it all ac- they wont?)
Look up complete goal of mumbai metro network it's gonna span more than 400km once completed that should start to offload traffic from locals that's one.
Second AC is still better than non-ac. Rest idk if there's plan for expansion or improvement in local networks.
>>71386
>Smart cities are happening to an extent,
I wrote in one of the threads about what are various things are happening under smart city, if you are interested there's already a thread about it in >>>/infra/ city planning - you will have pdf documents etc. on various projects under it.
It had success in few areas - i am certain goi got decent chunk of data - will likely go for next set of reforms whatever.
>they're making more and more metros, though there's no city planning or industrial development or any real "swachhta abhiyaan" going on like Indore anywhere in the country
lots of thing
Mix of things - metro is needed. Though like always starting a thing like pioneers. Metro had likes of Sridharan who made it happen now everyone wants it - though there were opposition. Even in case of mumbai metro but now everyone lieks it.
Now someone has to reform for metro lite with cities lower than 3 crores population and or future projection - but sadly little movement in that regard.
Swachch bharat, city planning will never succeed if central government has to hand hold but we need some sort of central-state prototype building whatever - Smart city CEO and SPV were really good thing - it should be used to pursue better cities imo. Though little discussion on it among most.
>expensive trains
Most trains in india are subsidised. Vande bharat compared to shatabdi equivalent is like 2.21 rupee per kilometer vs 1.56 rupee per km.
Train prices of Vande bharat metro are very affordable - check in news you will get entire breakup - it starts with like 1.28rupee per km, with full ac facility etc. it's really good.
Vande bharat sleeper will have mostly same pricing as existing ones.
In fact railway has barely increased the prices for basic services in decades. Barely.
They can do following things
>clamp down harder on those who are not travelling on tickets
>metro like entry / exit
>increase the price for general tickets - yes it's way too low no matter what anyone says but improve the service quality for them.
For city, we need to look into the SPV model under smart city project and somehow made it work parallelly to the municipal bodies. That's my only hopefuel.
