I'm reading pic related currently. It's from 1920/21 so over 100 years old.

Ask me anything yaaro.

I'm gonna update this thread with interesting stuff.

Also dyaush-- if you are reading this pyaaru think about implementing a semi-vlog/blog mode for longer posts or series of posts.

It's the PhD thesis of a physical anthropologist from Germany, and one of the most eminent ones during (and even after the second World War) : Egon von Eickstedt.

He measured and racially classified 76 Sikh war prisoners who were held in Germany after WWI.

The AIT (Aryan invasion theory, with a homeland in Eastern Europe/Steppes) vs OIT (Out of India/Iran theory) is mentioned and was in the same state as it is today: biometrically Eickstedt does not think that AIT with a homeland in the Baltic area is plausible but that it is likely that there was a migration from Eastern Iran into India.

One quote on this:

"Therefore, the Aryan languages are related to each other according to their geographical classification,

and therefore we must also look for a not too distant homeland for the racial elements of our Indian

immigrants — roughly that East Iran which became increasingly arid over the course of centuries.

But we must also assume that they migrated in large numbers with wife

and child over long periods into the wooded plains of the Punjab. Both are fully confirmed by the Vedas."

Nasal index is the ratio between the (nose height vs the broadest part of the nose) x 100.

Eickstedt found 4 groups of people with the following index :

1. Very narrow-nosed people. Average nasal index around 54.

2 Relatively narrow-nosed people. " " 60.

3. Relatively broad-nosed people. " " 68.

4. Fairly broad-nosed people. " " 74.

He uses this as an evidence point that there are at least 4 racial elements that make up the Jat Sikh population , with 2 and 3 being the most dominant ones.
