Yes. Symmetry. You are not used to look at your inverted face. And camera distortions. Camera doesn't see world with your depth. It makes your central face features bigger than they are. People with small lower face and small noses doesn't experience this. Although despite all that you can just be a bit ugly. But not too much.
Tldr : cameras have their favourites and vice versa
