Have you seen the map of russia? Its elongated right.
Now imagine one supergiant landmass like that running from northwest of earth down to southeast of the earth. (Kinda tilted). This will give us all types of climate zones.

36 hours is 18 hours of sun exposure and 18 hours of not. Night would be too cold and day would be too hot. Look around how hot buildings and surroundings get just with 12hr sun exposure

Maybe then humans would evolve to live in subterranean homes, free from the hot cold cycling. Or maybe trees would evolve differently in that case. Idk maybe they would grow very tall? Or very short? I dont know how it works and im too tires to think
