Every single workplace has this shit going on, they don't even leave you alone and let you do ur job silently
You can try to ignore them but even then they will find multitude of reasons of bullying you, and after years of this humiliation, you say one or two things back at them, suddenly it becomes worse than murder and they all gangup on you.

These people, 90% of total work population, who only work enough as to not to get fired are worst of all... if you think about it you will realize they are the reason why these CEO's and other people on topmost position are able to get away with anything. Because there is no one to stop them.
"office politics" is nothing more than keeping everyone under stress so that no one will give their 100% and climb the ladder of success.
Obviously, there are more reasons but these people are worst, they have no interest in work or to learn anything in life, they just want enough money to sustain their own life.
