if you buy the latest pro max variant of iPhone it can be used for upto 10 years given the battery is replaced after like 5 years
the lower variants might not last that long which is why when it comes to iphones you should always go for the maxxed out version
apple also provides long term software support
iphones released in 2015-16 are still getting their final updates now
