imo this report has shown caste essentialism is largely useless.
Economic difference isn't that huge among castes, specially between GC and OBCs.
Only 9% of general category households in Bihar earn over 50k pm.
Truth is Bihar is just overall poor af.

For all i know that bpl is extremely abused by jeets. My rajput neighbor who had 2 cars has it, my teacher had it, infact my principal had it too our teacher told once and many more. None of them were poor or LC.

Yeah this is a real concern, fake certificates/licenses are all too common.
Even in this report, there was no vigilance involved, all the data is self reported.
Basically you can say whatever you want, there is no cross checking cuz it's not an official census.

And btw 25% or 43% doesn't matter much, these numbers just get compounded due to overall economic backwardness and lack of opportunity, less to do with caste, more to do with Bihar being a shithole in general.

It implies that economic differnce isn't huge among other caste by a bit smaller margin. Which is false. The differences is fuck ton of when you compare obc/gc to chamars, and chamars to bhangis and doms and mushars. You can only know this if you visit. On paper, ever pajeet who is not starkingly richfag announces himself as poorfag. Kek i remmebr putting my family income 200k coz everyone was doing it as well. Even my friend who gets 3 lakh pm by rents.
