i have been to kashmir and am telling you from first hand experience they dislike indian army, the boatman called them "chote akbar" and all sorts of sarcastic sentences
only thing that was stopping them from open hate was the money coming from tourism (literally every tourist spot costs atleast 4-5k per person in kashmir, even that pony ride uphill where they got killed cost 4k per person which is written on board of state govt tourism, if you don;t see the board they charge 6-7k per person)
they know how to sweet talk and good hospitality but at the same time if it was not the money they don't care about people (they call us indians, as if they aren't in india)
