I don't know what to make of it. It's hollow, dull and a loose collection of events and information that have been stringed up together with no real direction. But, there are also parts that are warm and bright. Part dyke-fiction and sometimes a really bad sf story with unwelcome weirdness, it makes you wonder why it has the cult status that it does. But its okay.

Congrats, you defined Monogatari Franchise.

Monogatari is one of only 'safe' ecchi harems that normalfag can say they like without being judged it. Usually they make fun one of that genre and anyone who watches it, but Monogatari somehow has a veneer of respectivety in their arbitrary standards.

yes but I'm talking strictly about lain here, add something to the conversation other than puberty jokes or go shit somewhere else.

It's cryptic on purpose.
Schoolgirl Lain is a severely nerfed and socially constricted school girl with a fake ass family and fake ass friends and fake as school and private life. She realizes her true potential slowly as the series progresses as her relationship with technology increases and the artificial realoty starts to peel down, that of an all existing all pervasive CIA glow(by the way I am a nigger) experiment (posaibly built with the assistance of aliens) that they tried to contain, through slow and exponentially growing interconnectedness with technology that helps her overcome those socially engineered limitations to attain singularity and become her true self, a god.
This is why trannies love this show, and you don't seem to understand.

I don't know yaar anon, Araragi is pretty fucking openly a lolicon yaar. Yaad nahi kaise nahi choti hanekawa tsubasa ko dekh ke kutte ki tarah woh piche bhaga tha? Kek. I would say that shaft just demolished any criticism with its sheer work of art animation.

yes, yes that might all be very true but it is an unoriginal concept done million times over, so what's the big fucking deal? Only that it has a high school girl as a God?

No shit.
>add something to the conversation
I just did, it's just vague on purpose because the writer expected the reader to be smart enough to put it together, so did I, clearly we both were too confident in intellect of random person.
>other than puberty jokes or go shit somewhere else.
Yaar bhangi...
>>1653
Mostly this, but also because their was an entire cult arround the series, both predating the post the series. A cult arround technology singularity.
>And you don't seem to understand

Says a bunch of nothing and huffs his farts by calling me a bhangi, good job LLM.
Maybe the techno-singularity really is here.

Not sure what you mean by unoriginal concept done million times over.
The future "predicted" by Lain does not exist anymore because corporations monopolized technology through mergers, takeovers and cutthroat competitions. It was a 90s trend that died as soon as corporations mushroomed. They now regulate and release technology for the masses as they see fit. Cyberpunk is dead and now merely an aesthetic.
The show in itself sucks for me though.

>Not sure what you mean by unoriginal concept done million times over.
Mainly the evolution of mankind with its elevation to a Single Super-Organism, a very common science fiction trope.
>Cyberpunk is dead and now merely an aesthetic.
I see why, as is the case with all alternative movements.
>The show in itself sucks for me though
Why? Did you find it boring?

It's a gnostic thing.
The hardware that human beings possess is full of defects, cognitive and physical barriers, so it's not surprising if schizos come up with the idea of merging together into a single superentity even if they aren't really aware of the existence of similar media with similar end goals.

Yes.
Well, I think the reason people stand by it is because it ticks all the right boxes for cyberpunk enthusiasts or pretenders, with social alienation, ugly looking tech and a strange environment. This might have made them play "teams" and stick to the show because it felt truly theirs and nothing more.
>>1661
It did nothing for me either

This lmao, that's the entire reason the techno singularity cult in Japan died as well. Literally the trend was relevant for its time that the anime used but the relevance of that trend and the trend itself vanished with time.
>>1660
I think their was this another anime that ended up doing this, i think it was called "I am a hero". It approached it quite differently.
