I have a friend who's the CHC MO in charge of the whole center (Community Health Center, Medical Officer)
and just now he got a call from Police to make a report of a rape case
I asked him, whats the rape case and he said "its a fake rape case"
And out of curiosity, I asked him how many rape case you get which turns out to be fake
to which he said "most of rape case are fake"
And we're tier 3

Are you in Rajasthan?
The reason Rajasthan has a high rate of reported rapes is because it's a common tactic here to file a rape case against a boy in case some girl elopes. So other police take the case seriously since it's not just elopement but rape + abduction.
