It's bad in schooling level and dog shit crazy in tertiary education level. There are literally 100s and 1000s of unpiad research interns even in blaady govt run institutions and all the credits get stolen by your advisor. Blaady neuralnets ranted about this on twatter

it is that bad. CBSE punishes those who try to think of anything other than what they prescribe as correct

It's very dangerous because this sort of education leads people to become sheep further on. You see there is no diversity of public opinion in India, nobody takes the incentive to do anything, and you don't see respectable, honest people making their own political parties to alleviate problems

Apathy is the result

Yes. I remember how nice the curriculum and teachers were in the uk, compared to the horrible treatment kids are given in India

i believe if indians were given the same access to education, exposure and facilities as europeans or even other asians we would exceed everyone's expectations and do better as a nation

Dehat govt schools are largely comprised of low iq bhangi chamars slum dwellers children of majdoors etc. Cant expect them to be a bright bunch. Govt. schools are more about providing midday meals to the children from lowest strata than anything. If you give money for meals their baap would just use it for daaroo or gambling. Similarly NREGA is a welfare scheme than anything else. Beneficiaries show up, barely do 20 minutes of labour and get money. It is just a way of ensuring welfare money only goes to the intended recipient and not larpers. A lot of govt schemes are like that.

education is about learning to be rational (have a better cognitive understanding of the world) so just teach kids math and physics. thats enough. the only thing that matters.

you can do that by letting them read old lit. work from fundamentals like euclids elements to know what reasoning with math means and then try to get sense of why other models like the non euclidian ones came up then move to Principia Mathematica(which uses these mathematical models to describe the world) and read modern research papers(from Einsteins relativity to quantum mechanics) along with some based philosophies

just follow these works on a chronological order and try to reason with the author rather than just trying to memorize some facts from a CBSE textbook

>saar you can just master entire "Humanity's Intellectual Legacy" within 5 years with this approach

>curriculum

it was a lot more interactive and student-centered. We had no tests or homework in the traditional sense. I can't really do it justice with my description but we were given tons of stuff to use, mess around with. I remember on my first day of proper school after nursery (i was 4) we had whole bins full of interesting stuff to keep kids engaged. Teachers were pretty creative in making us learn stuff, a lot of their lessons were centred around learning how we can do things ourselves (making kids independent) and helping others, cleaning up etc (responsibility). I can see a 9 year old kid surviving alone comfortably in the UK whereas his Indian counterpart would probably need his mother to wake him up, cook and clean, make him sit to study or do homework and take him outside

Other things aside it wasn't exactly a utopia there either tho. A few teachers were strict and made you stand outside the class if you even yawned. there was also this one old woman who was indirectly racist toward me. We didn't have changing rooms for PE so we had to change into our uniforms in front of the whole class

I doubt thats the case for europe either. Only US has somewhat more holistic approach in college admissions. Your extra curriculars, grades, SAT scores, essay all are considered but we too have sports quota and such in india. And from cursory browsing of info on reddit it seems like in europe too admissions arent any different from much of the world.

Bhai the kid can think critically only if the foundations are right. You fuck that up, and you're done for. There's no amount of knowledge you can consoom from some textbook, newspapers or journals that can replace it

>>382445

yarr the US system is fucked up, college admissions is a total meme there. Europe truly does it the best, they don't gatekeep the best universities in their country from their teenagers.

Look at picrel for an example. Anyone in Germany can get admission to TU Munich, the highest-ranked university in their country for engineering, as long as you have 1.9 and above marks in school (roughly B+ or A-). On the other hand if you want a shot at getting into, say, UC Berkeley or UCLA the admissions office doesn't even care about your SAT score. They literally don't see it even if you submit it. So you could have someone with a 1590 SAT and a few extra curriculars like clubs and sports who gets rejected but someone with a 1200 SAT and tons of daddy's money starts a nonprofit to help kids in muh Africa loda lassan will get in. The education system is good, but the college admissions are fucked

Then their school education must be quite hard. How would they not suffer from lower quality and engineer surplus if they let many people in.

I don't think germany overgrades, i.e in the USA everyone gets As and everyone gets above 1500 on SAT, so there metrics are effectively useless in measuring a students aptitude; thus resulting in this extracuricalar retardation. Germany has much higher ceiling, which properly differentiates students.

KA

Not really. School is easy, it is college that is brutal. A bachelors in engineering is supposed to take 3-3.5 years there but due to 40-60% of students failing courses every semester the actual time for graduation for an average student is more than 5 years, or never at all

Plenty of people drop out and do CS or something easier

>>382547

>in the USA everyone gets As

True

>everyone gets above 1500 on SAT

What? No! The point of the SAT is that it's a standardized test, as in it's administered the same everywhere. It's just that nighers cant do well on the SAT so they dont give too much weightage towards it, otherwise black/latino student population would fall to 0% kek

KA

5bUCXc

No.382578

>The University of California (UC) system went test-blind (no SAT/ACT scores considered) due to overwhelming evidence and advocacy showing standardized tests like the SAT/ACT perpetuated racial/income bias, disadvantaged low-income/minority students, and weren't great predictors of success, leading to a 2020 Board of Regents vote, a 2021 lawsuit settlement for disabled students, and a focus on truly holistic review for greater equity and diversity, aiming to evaluate potential beyond just test scores

You cant make this shit up. Chamars will do anything to get nig‎gers admitted to college

Theres a similar issue with NEET. It has become super easy which is why you are getting all this rank inflation with so many getting insane scores each year. Luck and accuracy have become more determining. The chapter you focused or didnt focus on in your prep can be a total game changer. One less mark and you fall by thousands in rank. This is why you have insane stories of people who drop several years and use all those years for cramming entire NCERT books.

This seems like a far better system than entrance exam system. Most people are clueless about life, the world, their abilities or interests in their late teens and early 20s and they are just made to choose a career path. Many are either unmotivated, dont know what to expect or just slog off for years only to get the degree and change careers later. At least the german method allows them to experience the said path, and understand their interests and abilities to make the choice of continuing. In india engineering has just become a graduate degree.
