There are many misconceptions about him being "communist" (no, china is just state capitalist) or he caused too many deaths or whatever
The deaths caused by him were, for the most part, necessary to build up the capital for industrial investment as well as root out the medieval aspects of their society. What europe and the west did in centuries with colonialism and slavery, they did in a couple decades with their own people
Deng is credited for chinas success even though mao created the preconditions necessary for him to succeed.
Without mao, you just get an inefficient dumbocracy like india which deng will be unable to influence

One of the more underrated aspect of Mao is that his little red book helped increase the literacy rate of chinese to ~75% by 1978 when they liberalized. Compare that to India's ~55% in 1990 (when we liberalized) and only reached 75% in the 2010s.

First post was bait but anyone who says that Modi is neither close to mao or deng is clueless about all the reforms. all the previous burdens.
i will give one example, space reform done by this government. paved to a situation where now private companies are leading in satellite manufacturing, rockets, etc.
skyroot already is readying for their maiden launch.
i can start with as basic as identity, people don't understand how difficult it was for a normal indian without any house to open bank account.
his 10 years went mostly on basics - electrification, water connectivity, energy (ujjwala), healthcare. apart from performing reforms in nuclear energy etc.
this doesn't even capture 1% of the tasks done. the ongoing reforms right now nobody is talking about it but it's happening slowly.
PLI in electronics, then APIs for pharma, etc.

Everything you listed is just incremental improvement of the current system.
OTOH, Mao destroyed the old system and deng built a newer, much better one.
Modis reforms cannot be compared to this.

lol no there's stark difference in scale of implementation. congress carried on the good work of abv and upa 1 did well but obviously they didn't reform on their own and upa2 shat the bed.

because we are a dumbocrazy this is how reforms happen here, farm laws etc. can't be passed so modi had to use the roundabout ways to resolve it.
