Prolly just for show, I remember the Germans and Americans tried this in WW2 too, it worked only when they were hidden by night and the enemy was unsuspecting, so basically, when they had total surprise, but if anyone caught a wind, the gliders would be swiss cheese in no time. Combine modern radars and fortified state Indo-Pak borders and ts is basically potempkin.
