Why is it only westoids who can make Kino aircraft? America made this in 1960s. India can't make similar aircraft in 2026. Forget America, even china and Russia cannot make an aircraft so capable even today (because their jet engines are inferior). Africans are so far behind they haven't managed to build a car. Westoids managed to make such a machine in an era when most calculations were done by hand and there was no computer modeling. Everything had to be drafted in paper. Why does cutting edge aviation come so naturally for them while the rest of the world struggles? I hope India can build such kino machines one day. The Tejas looks like the maruti Alto of the aviation world.

How can anyone find Tejas ugly? Tho I always felt the mig was the most beautiful creation in aviation ever. Tech is a different issue as making jets is itself something you don't just jump in like 3 years. It requires decades to make a jet above everyone else. Tejas had no funding back in the day. They delayed it alot. I would like to see what they do with mk2, but long term AMCA should be the goal.

Chutiye, it is a strategic recon aircraft, the Soviets didn't build any such because they didn't need to, for 1) HUMINT assets provided enough intel for them.
2) Doctrinal reasons; their air doctrine was focused on airspace denial by utilizing fast interceptors, which were the MIGs.
3) Geography.
4) The Zenit program was going to start the next year, so they wouldn't need such an aircraft in the first place.
China was not on that level back then, and neither was India. Today something like this is not needed thanks to NRT satellite networks. Tho we can absolutely build it if we want to.

No. India cannot make jet engines as good as the SR-71's. Even the soviets couldn't. The mig-25 couldn't sustain high speeds for as long as the SR-71 because the engines would go bust. Soviet metallurgy was inferior to western tech.
