They probably bring these indigenous programs merely as a meme to project an image of progress but intentionally sabotage them. Apart from the weird profile and positions for sights there is nothing the designers fucked up by themselves, every other demerit was a result of army switching requirements like a kid with ADHD sending the tank into the "gear breakingly heavy" category. Which was actually prevented by the advanced Renk transmission until someone sabotaged those too and they suddenly started failing every phase despite working without any issues for 1000s of KMs just fine before.

I heard we have some of the highest average annual pilot flight times in the world? I'd assume our pilots would be pretty good. Abhi and the recent incident was more of a tactical fuck up by higher brass than the pilots themselves.
