It varies by race actually. Ofc pure lifelong monogamy doesnt exist in any species afaik but certain species show greater proclivity to monogamous behaviour and higher paternal investment. Subsaharans are least monogamous.

For majority of our evolution we have been monogamous and that's also the time period with most technical advancement
Present day humans exhibit 80% females reproduced to 40% men reproduced only due to our agricultural past where at a point for every 18 women who were reproducing only 1 man was, other men were mostly worked to death or castrated but that's only a blip compared to the 200,000 years of human evolution and I'm not even comparing to the hominins before that
