you should take it from me. you dont have to pick any extremes, just detach from people and learn to serve your purpose. you must have some goals, ambitions, aspirations. fullfill them. people only leech off those who are good at work. sure, you can help but do it only when it is effortless, dont be other's donkey. if its like sending some assignment which you did then just send it but if they want you to carry them through different stuff like projects and shit or something similar then just say no.
also if you feel like you are just a lolcow in the group and you cant share much with them about how you feel and your happenings then its not a friendship. just dont hangout with them.
