Why does India and china have so much population compared to other states? This didnt just happen in the last 100yrs right, so from the begining itself both these places had higher population. But why did it start like that?
China atleast is bigger in size so population is understandable but what about india.

For reference, area of china is about 95 lakh sq kilometer, while area of India is about 32 lakh square kilometer. If we consider the 94% population thing for china, effective population density should be similar.

both India and (southern) China have fertile plains aren't frozen year-round, a friendly climate to human life and vegetation and can support intensive rice farming. The population will obviously increase if you aren't fighting for survival every day from floods, droughts, snow etc. that can kill your crops

Having a high population is a very good thing in the real world. It allows for greedy sexual selection and social structures to arise in the first place.
India itself is a very fertile region. Monsoons ensure that you can harvest multiple times per year.
Anyway, India is also much larger than you think.
And China like all of Asia is just populated by endless bugpeople.
