Yeah i watched it, contrary to what people say it's actually entertaining. I absolutely loved the imagery, the schizophrenia capture in some way. I always prefer to watch movies in their actual version - as in language so on. Here in this case it was tamil, for those who are unaware.
Worst thing about this movie is, even if say politicized, the absolute failure to conclude every message the movie makers tried to convey
>at one time you wonder if it's about one's right to have a dignified life
>other side if you wonder if it's about one's greed in general
>at other side it turns into preachy forest conservative rights
>then you view further and no it's about just forest people who have ownership to utilize those resources
And you begin to wonder if it's even about the first point at all. Even as a criticism of varna vyavastha it fails because the very philosophy the people following, forest dwelling, were heavily absorbed from way later aspects of hinduism.
Anyway it was entertaining watch. English actors were average but the indian actors were amazing. What i like about this movie was,
>the ability to convey primordial feeling
It's genuinely amazing, i still think Tamil people are few of the rare groups who have something beyond what we understand materialistically to just capture the feel. They are one of the most ancient, in many ways to this land and the memory they carry should be tapped.
Tamil culture to me is a gemstone which captures what north india doesn't, the synergy of what was the interaction between neolithic iranian farmers, ancient ancestral south indians and eventual further set of religious influence. And everyone cherry picks things as per their agenda but beautiful thing is that the land is so indic that even when against such thoughts it can't help but capture those. It's beautiful.
>cinematography, direction is really good.
>bgm is really good
sometimes i do wonder if Dune movie had a bit of influence.
Artists are amazing people even if they are political biased if they are good at what they do, they can convey lots of things accurately - so i do wonder how much of the things they shown were captured when it comes to historically accurate.
>amazing set of actors
Captivating not going to lie. Vikram, parvathi, so on...
Anyway to conclude, it's a good entertaining watch and absolute failure when it comes to conveying any message. Still well made movie - and i guess negative pr is a thing because due to all the memes i just felt like watching it and it was surprisingly fun watch.
GG Tamil bros.

there's a bit of funny meme potential where they are, oppressed and naked so on, being exploited by higher varna indian person. And gora atleast in first half is shown as someone nice, who eventually awards them dignity by offering them land control, actual clothes they can wear so on. Kinda funny, you can just see the 'saaar' tier glee of director in that scene.
