>Mera Naam Joker is a 1970 Indian film, directed, edited produced, co-written by Raj Kapoor
>loosely based on his life
>The film was a disastrous commercial failure in India attributed to the audience not connecting with the sad plot and its length.
>However, the movie saw immense success in Soviet Union by becoming a blockbuster.
>It earned 16 crores at that time (1,059 crores in 2024), in Russia alone.
>Considered cult classic today

>i always felt it was some sort of soft psyops by soviets to push Soviet - India bhaichara type meme.

This was apparently one of the songs from Raj Kapoors movie. When Nehru came to India, Kapoor was called to Delhi to screen his movie for Nehru kek
