prior threads have generally discussed prog rock and towards its terminus, jazz. But you are welcome to post music that you listen to:
The Boy with the gun - David Sylvian(secrets of the beehive)

& - Tally Hall(Good & Evil)
I've been keeping this up my sleeve for a while. They're rather unique pop(?) rock(?) indie(?) art(?). I quite like the sound for what it is though some parts I feel were better off in their head and completely break the latent rhythm of the composition, by which point it has become a different song. They make what they like, and I like them for it. Only 2 albums, they do get better on the second one.

Now, I have this seemingly silly problem with these "artist" types like Sylvian and Bowie. Undoubtedly, the music is good but their individual contributions seems to be constituted by good looks and charm.
This is not much of a problem with people like R.Fripp or FZ for me because their presence is obvious. But maybe, they have a more subtler way of having their way.
Well, who cares if the music is good.
Black Star is one of my favourite albums and it is very sad.
I can't say I understand Zappa's music in all its glory but I "get" it, he has carved out his own immaculate micro-niche with scraps of things he liked and grew up with and boy do I love it.
I listen to this while I go to sleep which should really be the opposite of its intended effect kek

Right, I assumed so because I read the track was based on one of Baudelaire's poems.
> Apokatastasis Panton - Deathspell Omega(paracletus)
What am I listening to here? Brutal Prog? Quite nice
Also, after seeing your other general on metal, are you also into Sludge Metal? I checked some of the big albums like Dopethrone which was okay but I really dig Masters of Reality. Maybe because I liked sabbath from way before.

they are very eclectic people, you'd be interested to read their interview here :- https://www.bardomethodology.com/articles/2019/06/23/deathspell-omega-interview/
Its a fascinating read.
>What am I listening to here? Brutal Prog?
its a style of dissonance similar to the band gorgutz but for black metal. People are into analysing their lyrics since they've been influenced by hegel and bataille.

That is interesting, I've noticed bands of this kind are mired in literary explorations, much more than they let on, really.

No semblance whatsoever I’ve felt. Less grandoise than yes, many songs don’t have vocals because latimer’s vocals, whilst serviceable are subpar. But they have an impeccable flow in their songs, I can’t break it into ‘this section’ or ‘that medley’. Its all too seemless. Its the closest feeling I’ve had listening to jazz, the music just makes you feel at peace. There’s nothing too flashy here, jethro tull are the closest bands to them.

A fun little piece.
You know, I might have preindicated this earlier but, this place has been beyond deep shit for the past few weeks and the demographic seems to have fully given in to an influx of instabhangis to a point that it makes no difference if I just started on that shit. The shit being flinged by barely literate, unimaginative ape-men from deep sewer-lines of Jeet Hell does a big number on my brain.
I'm getting off imageboards and surfing the internet in general because you don't really miss out on much and, there are other things I have to do. It was good getting these threads going and thanks.
