spread over 10 years. Benefitted entire NW region from J&K, Punjab, Gujarat, haryana, western UP.

Obviously it goes back way earlier, before war started pakis would cockblock due to the treaty even as basic as cleaning up the dams process now it gave us an excuse to utilize our share of water properly.

Obviously we are not going or even need to cockblock most of the water to pakistan, just need to utilize our share of water properly.

IWT is pretty much charity by India, that we literally tied our own hands on the resource we control - also technically there are issues with that too.

We gave away 70% of the resource to Pakistanis without anything but terrorism in return.

It had two parts, eastern rivers - beas, sutlaj ravi which we utilize to great extent more is in work and pakis seethe about it already. This is completely within our right to use.

Then there's western branch of the indus system - chenab, jhelum and indus. Indus water usage by us has limited scope but for chenab and jhelum we can to an extent. The image previously shared was mostly about those.

Another aspect of IWT was, we sharing information on the river discharge etc. to pakistanis which we no longer do afaik. We didn't stop this even during 65, 71, 99 war.

All of this is mostly play to provide more wiggle room and make infra work easier nullify pakistani roadblocks to prevent usage of our own share of water.

Pakis will obviously use propaganda etc, to show that they are already suffering due to le ebil india while ignoring the fact that we are barely using our share of water.

Just proper utilization of our share will result in their inempt governments shitting the bed. We are more than within our rights to do so.

I don't think for the record that water flow will stop at all, at best i hope that infra work picks up the pace - there's enough votebank reason for politicians to care about it.

Pakistani government is just making up drama to put blame on us for their own incompetency.
