The porki economy has been an on and off trashfire for about last 30 to 40 years, the recent crises and chinese interference means they are finally starting to reform their economy.
The politician and mercantile classes are trying to position themselves as champions of this new reforming economy, this would mean a whole new section of the middle class would be loyal to the them instead of the army.
The porki army is scared of this outcome and is trying to wrest control of the reforms and distribute control among the military elite families via the "fauji foundation" and quite literally just taking over productive farmland

Imran experiment badly backfired and the army lost a lot of support, goodwill and most importantly it's aura of invincibility.
Along with that regionalist sentiment means the army is trying to make peace between poonjabees and sindhees . But they are failing and pissing both sides of even more.
