People exaggerate chink military boogeyman a lot but in a way i am in support of it because it kinda creates a pressure for our mod and military to modernize and improve faster.
Plus pakistan is a failed state, chinese are transformed their country, uplifted 100s of millioons out of poverty, are invest great deal in R&D, in most sectors they are aspirational. Something that can be seen as a decent benchmark - there are like two countries with similar population.
