I lack a sense of purpose and urgency in life. I don't do much, just bare minimum. I performed terribly at school, and I've held very basic jobs all my life. I get agitated once in a while at how life has worked out but then I go back to slacking. At the back of my head there is a constant voice telling me I'm a failure and could have been so much more than what I am. I think the only way to quiet this voice is to take a drill machine and drill a hole into my skull and let the voice out.

Don't go that route. It's not worth it. This is the only life that you got, so make the best of it. You didn't perform terribly at school. You did your absolute best, the best of the best that you could. You were not terrible at school, the school system just couldn't accommodate someone like you. It's not meant for you.

That's not an option for me. As an Indian the only option for me is to do well academically which means studying well and clearing exams. This isn't america where you can have a decent middle class life as a plumber or AC technician.
Time is ticking for me, in 12 months I'll be overage for most sarkari exams
