What ujed to be a pragmatic, utilitarian practice has turned into a practice of one-upmanship and a bladee humiliation ritual.
I remember back in the day, whenever someone ujed to gift me clothes as a kid, they used to meticulously note down my appropriate size from either me or my myeam.

My myeam used to specify.
Sure the clothes weren't all hip and kewl but atleast they used to fit and work for 2 to 3 years atleast given that i didnt grew out of them.
Now look at it, they bladeee make the entire asking for my size a humiliation ritual. Bladee specially the nu-age randees and aunties.
Those back in da auntijies are all long dead leaving these abominations behind.
No matter how many times i ask them to bring a free sized tshirt, they will almost always bring a size shorter than mine. They truly want to make fun of my motappa.

Bladeee what is the point of all these when the bladeee gift is gonna go to waste. I tried wearing one such tshirt today and bladee as always, I couldn't breathe through it. These just add as clutter in my already cluttered room.

No such tradition habbens in UP. We gift clothes but only to newborns.
Coming to your problem, you can just try them clothes in front of your bhabhis and let them see you struggling. once they feel embarrassed, drop the tshirt on floor and walk away. This might force them to bring a larger size next time.
