That may be true but 1 rafale was shot down. Where things get weird is that it might have been a friendly fire incident. Journalists like shiv aroor tweeted and then quickly deleted it. Remember, IAF shot down their own MI-17 heli in 2019.

Look saar, i get your point. But IAF isn't too competent either. Having a mix of both Russian and western fighters along with an array of Russian, israeli and indian radars leads to an integration nightmare. Today, IAF has fewer AWACS than the pakis. The squadron strength doesn't look too good either. Why is it that the Indian Navy handles defence procurement a lot better than the IAF? having clarity in procurement and strategy is something the IAF doesn't fare too well in. How else can you explain having to operate an ancient MIG 21 in 2025? Kek, they even sent abhinandan in a mog 22 against an F-16. We all know how that turned out. The responsibility of the sad state of IAF lies with HAL and IAF. We don't hear the naval chief doing randi Rona about Indian submarines the same way the IAF chief complains about the Tejas. Let's see how AMCA turns out in 10 years.
