Mamdani is winning by promising freebies while Vivek is telling people they are shit and that if they had worked harder in the past they wouldn't be shit and could compete against China.
Maybe Vivek can come out against H1Bs and he will have a chance but I doubt he will get much more than governor position in Ohio (if even that). Once you attack people personally and insult their existance they'll never forgive you.
Also you can't rely on logic to win over people in US politics. Most people agree with everything Vivek says but they "just dont like him".
People that go full retard like Mamdani have much easier time succeeding.
Theres also a lookism component. Mamdani looks much more "American" than Vivek, so he can filter and fits into the crowd more easily.
Vivek should return to India and govern Tamil Nadu. He and his family are very valuable assets.

Multiple things
1. Mamdani stayed true to his ideology and went into the Democratic party, a pro-minority socialist party. Vivek larps as "based conservative" and tries to force himself in a party that is fundamentally a white people's party.
2. Vivek challenged Trump. Mamdani cannot (he isn't a citizen)
2. The white-nonwhite divide in America is very real. Mamdani though indian looks pretty white. Vivek is visbly nonwhite, and very Apu like. In America only blacks can be successful without being white.
