do people still enroll as BCA students in 2025? how many people are in your batch?
I never understood the point of bca, it looks akin to nothing but a shorter, inferior version of BTech that doesn't reward you with placements at the end and teaches you literally nothing apart from a bunch of basic concepts in CS that anyone can learn themselves. Most companies will not hire you after you graduate so you have to prepare for another bhangi egjam after 3 years of grinding kalej to do yet another 2 years of the same software shit before you have a smol chance at getting a jaab.
Doesn't that limit you to only searching for a smaller % of jobs?
You are essentially just setting yourself up to do boring IT work at Infosys or TCS, or best case working as an SDE at a better firm. Even BSc allows you to atleast go abroad for research or sumthang

This is supposed to be what NIT Trichy (supposedly the best college for MCA) teaches you over the course of 24 months. Do BCAbros really get wet looking at this?

so in essence, after 5 years of studying stuff at top NITs that is taught in 2nd-3rd year of btech in my local Bihari kalej, you become eligible for lower tier btech jobs that everyone hates. Who even chooses this with a rational mind?
>>411105
Literally this. I am a fucking NEET and even I know ~80% of the shit they >>411104 teach (C, DSA, OOPs, SQL, networks and designing operating systems)

>do people still enroll as BCA students in 2025?
i failed jee and other engg entrances even after taking a drop, but i enrolled in bca in 2023 just to be safe. it ended up becoming my only option, so i continued with it since i didn't want to do btech from a pvt clg with a gazillion amount of fees
>how many people are in your batch?
around 58-63
>I never understood the point of bca, it looks akin to nothing but a shorter, inferior version of BTech that doesn't reward you with placements at the end and teaches you literally nothing apart from a bunch of basic concepts in CS that anyone can learn themselves. that's true, and that IS why i need to do mca after bca to be eligible for most cs/it related jobs, since in india bca + mca or bsc + msc is considered equivalent to btech. i also can't give gate since i'd need a btech or an mca/msc to get an admission. but i'm trying my best to get a jaab before doing my mca, and if i get one, i'll stick to it, improve myself by working, and i'd never do an mca
>Doesn't that limit you to only searching for a smaller % of jobs? You are essentially just setting yourself up to do boring IT work at Infosys or TCS, or best case working as an SDE at a better firm. Even BSc allows you to atleast go abroad for research or sumthang
yes, it does. after doing bca, i'll only be eligible for bpo, tech support/analyst, and other gazillion lower-paying jobs. but i already have around 4 months of remote experience from my internship during july–october. i've already started applying to jobs, and i'll soon appear for an on-campus interview that my clg is providing for the first time. i also have some decent projects. all of this should help me at least a little, and if i play my cards right, i can land a jaab even without mcs/msc. as for going abroad for a jaab, i don’t want to. i'm autistic as fuck, and i'm not very familiar with other cultures, so settling somewhere completely new would be heavy for me. for the first time in my life, i finally have a vision desu
