for those who don't know first sleeper vande bharat is going to run guwahati to kolkata - i thinnk 17 jan or something might be the launch date.

after one year of trials, and babu politics ICF contracted and BEML built train will be operational for public, but the prototype was slightly modified

if you see the video of the early form of the prototype train you can see

if you travel in 2nd ac you would find that side upper and side lower have separate curtains (in most trains) but babus have decided that no you will only have one curtain.

your privacy is fucked now - somehow no cockraoch media has asked or complained about it.

thousands of 'railway fans' and media travelled in new VB but nobody bothered asking this question to the mantri.

people need to chimp out about it ASAP, while VB is definitely better than the other LHB coaches, they are using ancient hammering wielding technique due to which entire vande bharat body at the outside liks so uneven with reflections etc.

it can be improved with modern presses and all but indian railway babus have not bothered fixing this very low hanging fruit which could improve the aesthetics of the trian 10x.

but tracks are being upgraded by default with kavach 4.0 rollout being sped up things will get better and speed should improve

Few good things about it

>EMU

which is nice, train is efficient good accleration

>Fast speed capability

can reach upto 180kmph, though has potential for 200 to 210 with few changes but we are not going to see those speeds so moot

>overall it's definitely an upgrade

automated door, seats, toilet, etc. services also hopefully would be better.

i loved that there was nice dedicated section for service team, dedicated section for disabled people etc. which is nice and progressive.

with this prototype approval next 12 are expected to rollout this year which is good for everyone i am looking forward to it

we are going from hauled trainsets to EMU trainsets that's the major one, rest in general comfort, etc. are better on VBs. everything is improved based on current trainsets. more efficient in every manner.

most importantly it is like our chinese equivalent of CR200j trainsets. capability to reach 200kmph.

vb like chinese iterations gave rise to series of different platforms amrit bharat, vande metro, vande hsr, vande chair and vande sleeper. soon aluminum versions, etc. this is obvious iterative progression.

every vande bharat is fitted with kavach.
