Mongol empire was far more successful in conquering and empire building. The speed of their expansion was unmatched and although they are second in terms of land area behind british empire, they had largest share of world population for any empire and ruled over diverse civilisations of Old world. New world colonies exaggerate the land area of british empire. They had lower share of global population and as an empire lacked the diversity in peoples that mongol empire had.
