It isnt any sort of version of himachal. Yes it is a himalayan state but Uttarakhand is its own thing just like kashmir and nepal are their own thing. Himachal has large valley plains like kashmir while UK is more mountainous. Garhwali and kumaoni are central pahari languages whereas himachalis speak western pahari languages- two different himalayan linguistic groups. Himachalis are ethnically more closely related to dogras of jammu and majha punjabis than to UK people. It makes sense when you take a look at variable population distribution created by variable geography.
