Its a very common surname shared by multiple cástes so i am not sure. Verma is usually used by kshatriyas in south iirc. In north, it is used by sunars(goldsmiths) and other cástes.

Verma is traditionally meant to be Kshatriyas, but people from the other (indian)s have used it time to time.
