Think it in terms of probability. You have a better chance at predicting a binary situation because both outcomes are 50% probable. Yes/No is a common binary event.
Other than that, you can't overlook the times he must've predicted the wrong outcome. Just because he was right 3 times; neither does it prove that he's right all the time, not does it prove his next prediction would be right (given the events in question are fairly independent).
