As I am a teacher, I try to fill the hole in my heart by adopting a few bright-eyed students as my "sisters" for a semester or two, teaching them lessons beyond the blackboard, sharing Diwali sweets and late-night chats about dreams. But when the bell rings and they return to their own worlds, the house echoes emptier than before.
