Why did our boomer parents teach us to be good, kind and just when it is clear the world doesn't reward any of these things?
When I was a kid I had thought that once I get placed in a good company after my BTech (from IIT) I would start a scholarship in my hometown for poor kids. But I didn't get into IIT and don't even make enough money to support myself, let alone support other poor children.

Being good and kind pays off in the larger picture.
On a nation scale it creates high trust.
However in India only one group follows the law and tries to be good and peaceful.
It's the only reason why India isn't in a civil war state yet. Which will happen inevitably once the critical mass of Muslims is reached.
