This was the case even before AI, in lundia almost all software developers just do back office work - maintenance, QA, etc, this is true for both ITeS shops and MNCs, most of it is drag and drop, during 2018-2021, these companies hired excess people, which they have since lay offing.

one thing pajeets do not understand is that, even at MNCs, the core product has been already built, Google finished its search engine all the back in late 1990s, most of us where never even born then.
if you look closely, these companies - Google, Meta etc aren't even in Tech business anymore, it is mostly advertising, it is their main source of income.
they need software developers to maintain their codebase, that's it, maybe add new UI features every once in a while, but that is it
So even without AI there is ZERO demand for gorillion "software engineers".
