she was reading a book i'd read. it was pretty niche, fairly rare to find someone reading novels in the library, especially a girl

When I was a kid, back in 6th–8th grade,
there were several Muslim girls I used to be friend with there were not many muslims in my class just those two girls and two other boys
We were actually close, they were pretty, kind, the real kind of friends.
The school was full of rich spoiled brats, so only the top-tier, good-looking Muslim families sent their kids there.
I had this quiet hopes, stupid hopes…
then 2020 hit, lockdown came, everything stopped,
and I lost touch everyone went their own way
Never got those contacts back.
Still think about it sometimes and it hurts.
