One of the common experiences I'll never get to know. I just trim my beard with a trimmer, never shaved with a razor, guess I'll have to learn it tge hard way.

but recently I've been having this sudden spurt of picking up manly hobbies and wanted to try shaving
I'll buy a razer and shaving cream this week to try

Buy gillette guard and be happy. I have used mach 3 and mach 5 and even that ball one. Gillette guard is better

I started using those classic steel razors
they do cause ingrown hairs at first and your skin with itch like HELL on any random day
your own hair will try to pierce into your skin as if to show you your place for going against nature
to punish you for the sin you have committed by being a human who shaved his beard just to maintain your hygiene
but you get used to it after a few times just apply oil or vaseline when that happens
