Do our brains anticipate hearing and other sensory input? Like I hadn't plugged by headphones in but a video was playing, I kinda picked em up and put them on my ears, for a moment I swear I could hear something or feel like I am in a similar tone as is typical for the content I was watching. Is it a hallucination? The headphones weren't plugged in at all. I've experienced this multiple times, not just in hearing but vision and touch too, does the brain make shit up from previous experiences even before actual input arrives?

I searched it up, it is natural brain stuff, as I guessed it predicts sensory input from previous experiences before any new one even actually arrives, I hadn't paid attention to the fact that my headphones aren't plugged in so my unconscious brain was super sure it is going to hear something and looked up shit from previous experiences it has had
