kek I finally understood why Vibrant academy was selling LIVE lectures of its top teachers, basically cheap internet broke the whole kota coaching industry, thing is they had expanded a lot in 2000s and early 2010s because the money was flowing and class room enrollment was increasing, then starting from late 2010s, online lectures and coaching buck broke them, starting from mod 2010s, enrollment had started declining, and it ranked massively after Jio internet explosion.
As a result most of these coaching centers abruptly closed down their centers in other cities, many of them literally broke, I was in kota when many top teachers at resonance, left because of unpaid salary, the crisis was already there cuz most of the so called "star teachers" had understood that they can earn a lot more by going online, they already had a reputation of their own, and that is exactly what happened.
The online course sellers from physics wallah, e saral etc etc all rug pulled the whole industry, cost of year long course in kota was around 60-80k as far as I remember, and noe suddenly these guys were selling the whole thing for 10-15k, online scaled far rapidly that offline classes.
The whole thing was so Brvtal, the actual Coaching center, Bansal Classes, which started it all went bankrupt and closed down, kek, Resonance is on the same path, Vibrant broke up twice already.

Most of the "star" teachers simply left, and started their own online classes, this is exactly what happened, and many IIT pass outs from 2010s did the same, instead of taking teaching jobs at these coaching centers they started their youtube channels.
In the end these coaching centers were left with no money and no teachers.
Online scaling is Brvtal.

Why should someone go to another state and get cramped in a classroom of 120 to 200 kids and listen to a guy ramble across the room and struggle to look at what he is writing on the board when you can just do that at the comfort of your home and even spam questions in the live chat?
The only reason why engineering colleges or other colleges for that matter are even operating at this point is because of the mandatory attendance criteria that exists there and not really for that important esoteric information that the useless professors in tier 253 engineering colleges possess. There's LLMs to take care of last minute exam preparations to clear the exams and get out with a worthless paper.

Back then, there was intense competition between 1000s of student in review tests to fucking land in top batches to get the top teachers, now those same teachers are selling their course for 3500 per year online to everyone.
In a sense the whole model of teaching just died out.
It is no longer about coaching centers, it is about teachers now, any good teacher can start a youtube channel, students no longer have to stick with some coaching center, they can just choose which teacher they like.
Content Creatorification is a real thing, people used to make fun of youtubers.

yup, thing is the money to be made is online, at offline level these coaching centers no matter how good their founders are cannot hire good teachers, but they can reach every student, just by doing live lectures themselves, this is way lot cheaper than hiring gorillion teachers to teach at shitty batches, they no longer have to pay real estate cost either.

Real Estate in Kota collapsed even worse, Vibrant academy actually had two side by side buildings, after 2017 exodus of its senior teachers and later decline in enrollments they eneded up selling the building kek, Akash Institute runs it now, unbelievable, I just checked on street view, it is no longer there.
