tendulkar and kohli went through plenty of down phases. No matter how complicated or simple your technique is all that matters is how well you implement them on the failed. Batsmen more technically talented than tendulkar did not achieve a fraction of what he did.
Also sehwag was mostly a slogger with some technique but still had a decent career
