A really great live rendition of Los Endos from A Trick of the Tail, featuring Bill Bruford

Diabolic Suicide - Sigh(Scenario IV: Dread Dreams)
Technically prog/avant-garde/black metal. The band has incredible musicianship and lots of moving parts, especially in Imaginary Sonicscape and In Somniphobia, harsh vocals maybe a bit off-putting as is typical of metal.

What you say is true, I've never liked Progressive Metal because I think even if the musicianship is impressive by itself, it is butchered by overblown distortion and jarring vocals. I must say that I am guilty of not listening to anything other than Porcupine Tree seriously but, the point still holds.

It was made without much thought, maybe we could have a dedicated general thread with variations,if it is worth something.
I've not been browsing BhCh lately, there's not much outrage of tasteful propensity for this board to be of interest to me. I just come here to look for things that I really shouldn't expect.
Hope you are doing well.

Fly on a windshield - Genesis(lamb lies down on broadway)
Followed by
Broadway melody of 1974 - Genesis(lamb lies down on broadway)
Not much to say here, immense soundscape and I quite like 2 parters or songs that lead into each other.
Also illustrated!
Genesis is terrific, that 3 album run from foxtrot to lamb lies down is some incredible consistency.

Firth of Firth - Genesis(Selling england by the pound)
hackett guitar solo is lovely. A pleasant surprise that elevates the song; even if it arrives at the death.

It's a very good solo, excellent tone but I really think it's not his best on this album. For me, its the end section in The Battle of Epping Forest, so good. He might just be my favorite guitarist.

It's okay. I never liked this album or Lizard which I found dull compared to their explosion of a debut album. Islands on the other hand is extraordinary.

wake has some of my favourites in cadence and cascade, title track and cat food. I used to like lizard when I first started listening but now it seems very dull. Islands has some terrific material in ladies of the road. Its rather simple and the keyboard-chorus combination is fantastic.
