A couple months ago, I had a paranormal experience. I don't know what compelled me to do it, but I had an sort of intuition that I was capable of doing it and did it, as bizarre and unreal as it seemed in retrospect. When I did it, I don't know what I felt honestly. Power, maybe? But the thing is, I haven't been able to replicate said ability again. This experience was so real, that I cannot really discredit it, try as I may. If you've had an experience as I have had, you'll know the feeling. It's impossible to discredit it. Once you've had your first peek through the liminal veil, you can never really forget what you saw, and it always lingers within your psyche. It also does explain a bunch of other seemingly unexplainable things which may have happened in your life. I've tried a bunch of shit after that, but to no avail. I guess the only thing is to wait. Perhaps spiritual development will only proceed if my mental and physical development are at the right level. I guess I'll have to put the paranormal on the backburner for a bit of time, perhaps a year or two or more. Just had to get this off my chest, not a very coherent or informative post.

>In continental philosophy, limit-experience (French: expérience limite) is a quality of experience that approaches the limits of possible experience. This can be in terms of its intensity, and it being seemingly impossible or paradoxical. In Lacanianism, a limit-experience dissociates the subject from the experience that it exists in and identifies with, leading to a confrontation with the Real.
I don't think I fully understood what "The Real" is, but I guess this tracks. The horizons of my individual conception of Reality were broadened.
>a limit-experience dissociates the subject from the experience that it exists in and identifies with, leading to a confrontation with the Real.
I don't think however that I "confronted" the Real, rather, I was aware of these things ((certain aspects of) the paranormal), as well as the framework of these things prior to the experience. I don't think the experience shocked me, or forced me to confront anything, rather, I was already aware of that thing, intuitively. What it did, was just cement it as part of my reality, prior to the event, the knowledge I accumulated was just empty knowledge that I had no way of knowing if it were true or not. While the experience didn't shock me, I guess it took a bit of time to kick in, and I did feel some sort of shock, after like, "Holy shit, I actually did this".

'the real' is 'the thing in itself', or reality w/o filter. Either way, its the effect of a limit-experience.

Have you had any limit-experiences?

I don't think that counts. It isn't something which "approaches the limits of possible experience", i.e the framework for having a nested dream is something which existed in your awareness prior.
