They blaady asked my mother to be admitted for typhoid when she wasn't even that sick.
We have a nurse relative. She asked her for medical advice and she told the antibiotics that daakters give in typhoid. My mother completed the course and recovered without ever needing to be admitted.

Yaar it's a shame nurses aren't allowed to legally prescribe in India. On one hand we cry that we lack daakters, on the the other hand nurses aren't even allowed to prescribe meds. Most states in USA allow them to but we don't.
