India is too big and diverse of a country. Average Naarthy like myself before making an effort has no concept of difference between Kannada, Malyali or Tamil people. Just like they probably don't understand the difference between a Punjabi, Haryanavi and a UP wala bhaiya. All have different views. Gotta say though I had limited interactions with Malyalis and they were all very pleasant and polite people. As a Punjabi I definitely now think of them as better than other Southies.
